Set back

Unfortunantly we have had a set back. I have called a couple of companies and asked them for quotes for the materials we would be needing and they all gave me a quote around 200$ which is too costly. so we are going back to the design phase and thinking about a wall mounted pull up bar system which should cut the material cost to about half or more. I will post a picture of the design in a moment

powder coating

We have made a big breakthrough. We have found a powder coating place that will powder coat the bars for the pull up bars for free! yes for free! so this makes things much easier. now to just find the meatal

Update

Hello all, lately the group has been working on making solidworks prototypes for the sketches that we had created and then once we have finished those we are going to work on doing stress tests on them.

Sketches- 09/02/11

Today we are just working on the sketches for Mr. Calderon's pull up bars. we have a few designs in mind.I will post pictures tonight of what the sketches look like and hopefully they are to Mr. Calderon's liking.

Timeline

Calderon is looking for more equipment for his work out room and he is interested in pull up bars so that he could do more work outs. If we could get this done we could finish his request and make him even more fit and buff than he is at the moment.

Identify the challenge

The challenge of this project is to Learn product design and to work with solidworks so that you can test it and make changes to it before you even make the actual product. This project will also test teamwork skills and organization and communication.
